Botulinum Toxin as It Appears in the Vial of Botox:

Note that, at times, the Botox vial may appear empty before the reconstitution process, yet it contains a little amount of crystals made of almost colourless microscopic proteins of botulinum toxin. You are likely to see fine fragile-looking crystals under the light, which take a better shape once mixed with sterile saline solution for injections.

Botox must be taken by considering the expiration date mentioned on the vial. It is advisable to store this product in the refrigerator between 2-8°C and should not be used beyond 36 months.

The units of Botox are specific to the preparation and assay method utilized and are not interchangeable with other botulinum toxin products.
